The Andaman Waters offers several excellent fishing destinations. Catch marlin, sailfish, wahoo, giant trevally, barracuda, yellow-fin tuna, mackrell, snapper and lots more.

Fishing Ground in Andamans Islands
Andamans known for its untouched fishery and a sport fishing paradise, these Islands leave all breathless with their abundance of marine life.


Location
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a breathtaking archipelago located east of India, boasting some of the worlds best underwater sightseeing and superb beaches. Spread out over more than 800 km in the Bay of Bengal, these 572 idyllic islands encompass three distinct ecosystems - tropical forests, mangroves and coral reefs, which support a staggering variety of plant and animal life. The flora and fauna of the Andaman’s is superb and it is a bird watcher’s paradise with over 242 species, 58 species of mammals and 83 species of reptiles.


Connectivity
Andamans are accessed in Port Blair by air daily from Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi.


History
After Archibald Blair's survey of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1788-89, a settlement was established at a place, (now known as Diglipur), to the north of Port Blair (then called Port Cornwallis). Six decades later, the 1857 Revolt forced the British to turn the Andamans again and this time, the stay lasted a little over 80 years. During 1942 Japanese invaded and took over the islands, they remained till 1945.


Fishing Grounds : South & Middle Andaman
During your stay our team will send you on the best spots. Some weeks, fishes are more active in the 'SOUTH' ( South Andaman, Rutland island, Cinque Islands, Passage Island, Sister Islands, Brother Islands ), sometimes the choice of spot will be the ‘NORTH’ like Baratang island, Havelock island, Neil island, John & Henry Lawrence Islands, North & Middle Button Islands. Sometime, when the timing is favorable, 2 or 3 days fishing trip can be organize in some farer destinations.
The Surmai fishing club is open from July to middle of May.
